multi performance testing

This page contains unofficial testing results for NDI Source Multi. They will provide guidance on what to expect from different systems but they form no guarantee of performance. You will need to do your own performance testing to determine appropriate loads for different hardware.

 

 

macOS VERSION TESTING

 

MacBook Pro 2016. MacBookPro13,3

2.7 GHz Quad Core Intel Core i7. 16GB Ram, macOS 10.13.6

Sonnet Echo Express SE1, TB3 Chassis

 

BlackMagic Design Quad 2 Card (8ch), with driver v10.1.10 and also an UltraStudio Mini Recorder

NDI Source Multi : 4 x 1080 25p into Quad and 1080/50i into Mini Recorder

Result: 5 Channels of SDI to NDI works very comfortably.  Not tested beyond 5 channels, but CPU was barely ticking over.

 

BlackMagic Design Duo 2 Card (4ch), with driver v10.11.2

NDI Source Multi : 4 x 1080 25p into Duo 2

Result: 4 Channels of SDI to NDI works very comfortably, CPU was barely ticking over.

 

MacMini Server2011

2.0 GHz Quad Core Intel Core i7. 16GB Ram, macOS 10.13.3

BlackMagic Design Duo 2 Card (4ch), with driver v10.11.2

Sonnet Echo Express SE1, TB3 Chassis, TB3 to TB2 Apple Adaptor

NDI Source Multi : 4 x 1080 25p into Duo 2

Result: 4 Channels of SDI to NDI works comfortably.

(with MacPro5,1 firmware)

2 x 2.66 GHz Quad Core Intel Xeon. 32GB Ram, macOS 10.13.3

Dell T5600 2 x Xeon E5-2660 32GB Ram - Ubuntu 20

BlackMagic Design Duo 2 Card (4ch)

Result: 4 Channels of SDI to NDI works very comfortably.

BlackMagic Design Duo 2 Card x 2 (8ch)

Result: 8 Channels of SDI to NDI works very comfortably.

CPU was barely ticking over. Need to test with 16 channels soon.

 

 

 

WINDOWS 10 TESTING

Result: 8 Channels of SDI to NDI works very comfortably.
