Sienna ND selected for

Live Outside Broadcast Operations, Hanoi, Vietnam

Donald Trump's second summit with North Korea's Kim Jon Un in Vietnam was covered for the BBC World News channel by a team from BBC News in London. For this event they carried a computer to Vietnam setup with a variety of Sienna NDI infrastructure tools, along with a connection over 100mBit public internet to a similar system setup at BBC Broadcasting House in London.

This was the BBC's very first outing for the Sienna NDI Infrastructure, carried as a proof concept for future projects. However, Sienna NDI.Cloud instantly proved to be superior to their existing 'plan A'  (Teradek Core) and was quickly pressed into live service.

Comments from BBC Engineer

"All working well ...  We are running ... AutoQue from London. One via Sienna and one via Teradek Core (our normal method). You'll be glad to know Sienna has proved quicker and more reliable so we have switched to it for our main AutoQue feed... The feeds via [sienna.cloud] nodes are really working fantastically well"
